Great day on the water for Greg McLeod and friends
We had a great day on the water with Captain James and Barry aboard the Eva Marie on Saturday, 9/18. Conditions were 2-4′ inside and a little higher in the blue water. Captain ran across a descent weed line about 8 miles off Key West that was holding lots of bait. He worked the rip from 10 am – 3 pm and we brought in nearly 20 fish…keeping 15 nice Wahoo, Dolphin, and a Tuna. We completed our “catch of the day” for the menu at Alonzo’s that evening…perfection! Happy to report the fishing is alive and well in Key West. Nothing better then friends, saltwater fishing (catching fish!), and a some COLD Bud Light!

Ramsey’s have a great day on the water aboard Eva Marie
We had a super day with you guys on the water! Karley still brags about her ballyhoo baiting skills! Ha! We will be back again one day to try to land the sailfish that got away. ~ The Ramsey’s (Brad, Tammy and Karley)

Black fin tuna caught on Eva Marie
Hi folks,
We’ve had some great offshore fishing the past week during the Christmas holiday. The offshore waters are alive with plenty of species to bend a rod.
We have been targeting blackfin tuna lately and doing well. These fish fight hard and are plentiful this time of year. In the mix there are usually bonito (false albacore), sailfish and sometimes even wahoo. The reef and wreck fishing is terrific in the winter months for snapper too. Mutton snapper, mangrove snapper and yellowtail are some of the best species. Along the reef there are plenty of spanish and cero mackerel too.
Eva Marie is located at the Galleon Resort now in downtown Key West. We offer full day, half day and 3/4 day fishing charters for up to 6 people. For more information on the boat check out the main website and www.evamariekeywest.com.
